A distinctly cooler nose reflects smoky aromas of Granny Smith apple, lemon zest and mineral reduction. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the super-sleek and overtly stony middle weight flavors that deliver fine persistence on the balanced and youthfully austere finale. This too could use more complexity so I would suggest allowing for at least a few years of bottle aging. Recommended. *Outstanding*

Offering up aromas of citrus zest, crisp green apple, fresh mint and pastry cream, the 2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Sur Le Sentier Du Clou is medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless, with a sweet core of fruit and a mouthwateringly mineral finish.

Pale lemon colour, suffering from the 161/49 malady so the small amount of fruit ripened very early as the nose makes clear. Some citrus behind, very much a stony limestone middle ground, with fair length to finish. Might become a bit heavy? Drink from 2026-2029. Tasted Nov 2024.
