The 2023 Fleurie “les Garants” from Domaine Chermette is an absolutely superb bottle of young Fleurie. Its aromatic constellation is deep, sappy and complex, hopping from the glass in a blend of black cherries, black plums, dark soil tones, gamebird, coffee bean, campfire and violets. On the palate the wine is pure, precise and full-bodied, with great depth of sappy fruit at the core, fine-grained, ripe tannins, great focus and balance and a long, nascently complex and structured finish that will demand some cellaring time before the wine starts to drink with generosity. However, once it is ready to drink, it is going to be superb juice. (Drink between 2030-2060)

Plump black plum and red currant swim towards violet blossom enriched by understated savory aromas that enliven the nose. Fresh-fruit flavors of blackberry and apricot skin ride a wave of grippy tannins that go on and on extending the finish for minutes.
