Some of Cyril Testut’s oldest vines are in his parcel in Vaillons, as these vines are fully seventy-five years of age. The 2023 Vaillons is another fine example of the vintage, delivering a complex aromatic constellation of tart orange, lemon, dried flowers, a fine base of chalky soil tones, straw and a topnote of citrus peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and ripe in the style of the vintage, with a fine core of fruit, good acids and grip and a long, well-balanced and vibrant finish. Fine juice that is drinking very well out of the blocks, but has plenty of potential to age.

A fresh, ripe and airy nose offers evident Chablis elements in the form of oyster shell, iodine, white pepper and a whiff of just grated grapefruit. I very much like the mouthfeel of the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that flash a touch of minerality on the clean, dry, focused, balanced and youthfully austere finale that displays good power, Lovely and very Vaillons. *Outstanding*
