The 'classic' Gravières from Jessiaume is astoundingly good in 2023, with pronounced aromas of ripe plum and blackberry, with hints of smoke, earth and spice. The tannins are firm and long, and the substantial extract carries the wine to a lovely, long finish. The domaine has a substantial holding in Gravières of more than 5ha; six different sectors of the vineyard are farmed and vinified separately, and blended before bottling. This wine is impressive, despite a small amount of old-vine fruit being removed for the Numerus Clausus bottling.

Dark flavors of black cherry, blackberry, violet and oak spice grace this supple yet structured red. Harmonious, with toasty oak and a green olive accent on the long finish. Best from 2028 through 2040. 1,500 cases made, 60 cases imported.
