The 2023 Saint Romain La Perrière comes from an exchange of fruit from an organic producer (I quickly worked out who and you could too from my report!) This has a taut nose that's a little backward at first, opening nicely with green apple and Conference pear. The palate is well balanced with gorgeous peach skin and light orange pith notes, a fine bead of acidity and a poised, generous finish. This is really what white Burgundy does so well. It's unpretentious, utterly delicious and probably better value than most.
