The DeMorgenzon 2023 Stellenbosch Reserve Chenin Blanc offers a luminous and bright personality with pretty aromas of lemon curd, honey and Golden Delicious apple. This wine has a medium-plus body that evenly covers the palate. There are mineral highlights that give it definition and sharpness. With time, an aroma that reminds me of salted toasted almonds emerges quite beautifully. These vines were planted in 1972 on south-facing slopes with decomposed granite. The wine ages on the lees for 10.5 months in 300-liter barrels, with 25% new oak, and small parts in concrete egg and amphorae. Some 16,100 bottles were released.

A fleshy chenin blanc that has baked apples, honey, lemon curd and a touch of pie crust on the nose. It’s full-bodied and balanced by bright acidity. Lingering honey notes. Sustainable. Drink now. Screw cap.
