The 2023 Candide is a blend of 41% Chardonnay, 25.5% Chenin Blanc, 24% Sémillon, 5% Viognier and 4.5% Roussanne, which reflects the diversity of the Babylonstoren property and garden. The nose is incredibly expressive, with notes of white peach, Meyer lemon and a great notion of wax melon, yellow apples and yellow cherries. Fresh, bright, and medium-bodied, the palate offers notes of citrus blossom and jasmine. It ends with a pleasant notion of phenolic bitterness and a crisp, citrus-driven, food-friendly finish.
