The Merlot comes from the 40-hectare Mt. George Vineyard in Coombsville. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and aged primarily in 20% new French oak with a small portion in Hungarian oak for 20 months, contributing a deep warming spice baseline. These elements lift the aromatics of fresh pipe tobacco from the glass. This medium-bodied Merlot offers crunchy currant fruit and apple-skin-like tannins layered with warm spice, mocha notes, and hints of blood orange. The finish carries a high-toned, vibrant character, making this an expressive and intriguing wine.

This delicious, approachable wine is quite chocolaty and effusive. Cocoa and candied cherry aromas, cherry syrup and cola flavors on moderate tannins. Drink now.
