The 2022 Carménère Floresta, from Apalta, leans towards the greener side of the spectrum. Fermented and aged in concrete, this purple wine showcases an herbaceous character with subtle hints of green pepper. Dry and juicy on the palate, it offers a plush and crunchy texture with vibrant floral notes. It's a savory and flavorful red indeed. There's a new trend emerging in Chilean Carménères, particularly concerning the pyrazines found in the grape-Floresta is leading the charge. Since Carménère exhibits a distinct jalapeño aroma when harvested early, the handling of this characteristic, whether producers emphasize it or not, is shaping the new generation of Carménères.

Vividly fresh, this is one of the most contemporary styles of Carmenère in Chile, really embracing the variety's naturally floral and herbaceous edge. Floresta is full of bright red fruit flavours, with light, peppery tannins that add a framework to the juicy finish. Coming from old vines planted in 1934 on the hillsides of Apalta, this wine lingers with flavours of pink peppercorn.

Fresh and spicy nose with lots of red sour cherries, fresh blueberries, hibiscus, herbs and chaparral. A touch of minerals. Crunchy and mealy on the palate, with lots of chalky tannins. Dusty, succulent and long, with rare austere qualities delivered by granitic soils. Really vibrant, pristine and fruit-expressive. 15% whole cluster. Delicious. Drink now.
