The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Hauts Pruliers 1er Cru comes from a north-south orientated parcel. This has a complex bouquet leaning more towards red than black fruit. Well-knit and very pure, perhaps due to there being no whole bunches here. The palate is succulent on the entry, with fleshy red fruit exerting a gentle grip. But the power comes towards this wine's back end with layers of ripe cranberry, raspberry and black pepper notes. This fans out in wonderful fashion. Superb.

A dark and concentrated purple. The bouquet is clean, backward, intense, dark fruit. The barrel speaks slightly. No whole bunch here to lift it. A Nuits from Nuits! Some blackberry fruit, a certain sucrosity, will benefit further from cleaning up when racked. Relatively sumptuous, slightly lower acidity. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2023.
