A stunning version, showing wonderful precision. Offers wild strawberry, raspberry and maraschino cherry flavors that are sleek and polished, plus wild fennel, toasted green tea, rose petal and cardamom details. There's a hint of forest floor on the long finish, with dense, velvety tannins. Drink now through 2037. 500 cases made, 150 cases imported.

From the Sexton vineyard in Gruyere. Destemmed with whole berries and matured nine months in French barriques (20% new). A deep ruby crimson. The densest and most brooding of the Giant Steps Yarra Valley single-vineyard pinots from 2022. You'll find bramble berries, freshly ploughed earth and a little black pepper. Savoury and concentrated on the palate, there is plenty of meat on the bones with substantial and persistent tannins masked by the sheer weight of plush fruit at this stage. A succulent wine to enjoy now and over the next few years.

Aromas of clove, bing cherries, lilac and mulch. A darker composition. A carnal whiff of autumnal leaves and Lapsang souchong. Detailed tannins compress a mid-weighted palate of impressive density and freshness. This will unravel nicely across the mid-term, based on poise and succulent length. A reductive clench at the finish confers further tension. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.

Brooding and open-knit, liquorice root leads with earthy allure before kirsch, allspice, clove, black pepper and sappy dark cherry. Swirling reveals umami tomato bush, subtle cured meat and decaying leaves. The palate’s sappy texture wraps clove, cranberry, dark cherry, plum and tilled earth, with a whisper of rhubarb. Chalky, firm tannins frame the sappy power and texture through a long finish. Deep and dark, yet wonderfully complex and balanced. Drink from 2025-2031. Tasted Jul 2025.
