This is a contemporary wine that’s light and transparent, with graceful aromas of cooked cherries, iodine, cinnamon and juicy fruit. Full-bodied, it shows delicacy, elegant tannins, crisp acidity and a salty, vibrant aftertaste. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Fabio Sireci’s organic estate in central Sicily produces this high-elevation Nero d’Avola, proof of the quality potential for a native grape that is often undervalued. Lagnusa means lazy, a reference to the slow-ripening, low-yielding old vines. Firm yet fresh, it offers ripe tannins, Mediterranean-inflected blackberry fruit and notes of aromatic woodsmoke with lavender and Darjeeling tea. There's no jamminess here, just ripe fruit and layers of complexity.

The 2022 Nero d'Avola Lagnusa is perfumed with a fresh mix of wild berries and spices accentuated by hints of blood orange. It's soft-textured and lifted in feel with vibrant acidity and crisp wild berry fruit. The 2022 finishes energetic and pleasantly tart, puckering the cheeks while keeping the mouth watering for more.
