A dark, sleek red, offering focused flavors of blackberry paste and plum sauce, with a ripe touch of boysenberry coulis animated by bright acidity. Accents of black olive, espresso crema, tarry mineral, rosemary and paprika lace the fruit profile. This is medium- to full-bodied without feeling weighty on the palate, defined nicely by fine, chalky tannins that firm the finish. Drink now through 2037. 1,600 cases imported.

The nose leads off with warm, macerated blackberries, orange zest and chocolate, then swirls into a peppery earthiness. The palate is consistent, with more sweet, ripe dark fruit and dark chocolate layered over a continued tangy, peppery earthiness, while a blast of citrus provides a boost. A great showing of Nero d'Avola's ability to be earthy and fresh, but also juicy and solar.

A youth wine with tangy minerality and savory notes of earth, cassis, anchovies and leaves. The attack is firm, with a solid spine of acidity, a chewy palate and a polished finish that will develop more complexity with bottle aging. From organically grown grapes. Try from 2025.

The 2022 Nero d'Avola Saia opens with a confectionery bouquet of crushed blueberries, violet pastille and spiced oak. It's round and pliant with depths of ripe red and black fruits that flow across a wave of vibrant acidity. Sour citrus enlivens the finale as the 2022 tapers off long, staining, but ultimately fresh.

Made from Nero d'Avola vines located between Noto and Pachino in Sicily's southeastern corner. Floral, fresh and plummy, it features tangy red fruits with some blackberry and sottobosco. Picked slightly early to maintain freshness, this is admirably light on its feet compared to your typical Nero d'Avola.
