Richly mineral, with the elegance evocative of Burgundy. The Temperance Hill Pinot Noir from Evesham Wood is comprised of mostly 1982 planted vines, along with some replanting from 2015. Aromatics of dusty books, pencil lead and dried rose petals announce this beautiful Pinot Noir from one of Oregon's definitive cru sites. The palate is silken, with fine country hints of rusticity. Dried herbs, tamari and chicory root set a savoury tone met by elements of black tea and red plum skins. Delicious, refined and timeless.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Vineyard blends nuances of crushed chalk with rose petals and dried strawberries to form its enticing bouquet. Soothingly round and decidedly savory in style, it washes across the palate with perfumed red berry fruits as tactile mineral tones mount toward the close. The 2022 finishes pure and lifted yet pleasantly chewy, leaving subtle tannins and a hint of licorice to fade. Temperance Hill Vineyard possesses a totally classic feel.

Fresh and mineral with crushed wild berries, raspberry bush and hints of iodine, wet stones and mild spices. Medium-bodied, textured and polished, yet with a firm backbone of tannins, it offers freshness and poise, finishing lingering and lively. Drink or hold.

The medium ruby 2022 Pinot Noir Temperance Hill is from an incredibly varied vineyard and is more focused and mineral-noted, revealing notes of pomegranate, roses, orange pith, incense, and crushed stones. The palate is medium-bodied, with grippy, fine tannins, balanced acidity, and a bit of warming spice on the finish. A wine like this reminds me of elegantly styled Nebbiolo.
