The 2022 Zinfandel Old Vine pours a dark magenta color and reveals notes of dusty cedar, pencil shavings, plum, and violets. Full-bodied, it stays light on its feet, with snappy acidity, ripe tannins, and a compact feel without weight. It’s a very charming Zinfandel to drink over the next few years.

Rich, ripe aromas of spiced cherry and raspberry dominate the nose of this Zin, while darker, spicier flavors of berry coulis, licorice and purple flowers provide depth on the palate before echoes of slate, black pepper and sage take over on the finish.

Very dense and purple in the glass, offering a profound first impression, the Old Vine Zinfandel turns out to be a balanced take on the variety. The nose is floral, fruity, and spicy, with notes of dried flowers, ripe blackberries, and sour plums, all lifted by peppery spice. On the palate, dense fruit flavours of dried figs and ripe berries are energised by bright acidity, which also enhances the perception of soft tannins and well-integrated oak. The finish is long, speaking to the wine’s depth and old-vine character.
