Fine clear lemon yellow. A very complete bouquet here, with even greater density than Sur la Roche, less sunny than Vignerais. The Clos de France lies lower on the slope but a cooler site, so it will take its time. Impressive weight, but all in reserve. A little touch of liquorice.

The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos de France 1er Cru shows more reduction on the nose than other cuvées, but there is fine intensity. It's a little austere at first but opens nicely with time. The palate is slightly creamy in texture on the entry, with touches of chai and white pepper, gaining depth towards the finish. Give this a year to two in bottle.
