A fine, creamy nose with vanilla, berries, plums, milk chocolate and sweet spices. Sleek, juicy and fresh on the palate, this has medium body and an expressive and persistent finish. The tannins are fully melted. Tempting now, but the flattering wood spices should better integrate in two to three years. Try after 2026.

A fragrant and lifted nose. Lovely pure fruit with a cool and chalky edge combining fresh acidity with a mineral core. Feels a little subdued at this point, the juicy strawberry elements just overtaken by a liquorice and crushed stone tang but its sleek and well built. Excellent definition and gentle persistence leaving the finish long and layered. Feels classy and confident.

The 2022 La Pointe, matured in 50% new oak, has a tightly wound blackberry- and bilberry-scented bouquet that is very well defined with nicely integrated wood. It offers a lovely crushed violet aroma that gains intensity in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with pleasing sapidity, hints of black olive and touches of orange rind. It's structured and quite classic but with sufficient flesh on the finish. This is a very fine, sophisticated Pomerol that will age well in bottle. Don't overlook this.

A nose of lightly degraded fruit and smoky oak on the 2022 La Pointe, the sweet aromatics nuances with dried tobacco leaves, cigar, toast and honeyed oak. The palate continues with a polished, broad and quite charming character, with lightly degraded berry fruits, intertwined with tobacco, toast, liquorice and sous bois, all draped over a very taut frame of powdery tannins and crushed chalk minerals. This is very impressive, but it will need time.
