The double 94-point 2022 Château d'Arsac is a powerhouse value at under $30 with "dense tannins and layers of black fruits and structure." The vintage has particularly favored the estate style in the 2022 Grand Corbin-Despagne, as evidenced by the wealth of strong press that accompanies it, highlighted by Antonio Galloni's 95-point review. "Soft and plush, with no hard edges and stunning balance," he declares, "Grand Corbin Despagne is impeccable."

Then there are the collectible all-stars of 2022 (and they are legion), as evidenced by the 2022 Branaire-Ducru and its astounding critical line led by a pair of 97-point scores. "A classic Branaire-Ducru that will age with style in bottle" according to Neal Martin, the 2022 manages to temper the more powerful and assertive characteristics of the vintage while conveying "fine, almost clinical delineation" on a "sleek and glossy" foundation. We fully agree with William Kelley that it's "worth a special effort to seek out." The triple 97-point 2022 Gruaud-Larose is likewise a super-savvy cellar contender, "one of the absolute classics from this château." One of the vineyards away from the Gironde estuary has produced a richly structured wine. It has dense tannins and layers of black fruits and structure. Blackberry and black coffee aromas and juicy black fruits give a wine that has space to develop. Drink from 2028.

Good depth on the nose, showing blackcurrants, graphite and a touch of fresh herbs and flowers. This shows obvious potential with its tight-grained tannins providing a muscular but complete structure to the full-bodied palate. Still, quite lively and al dente. Tightly wound, long and youthful in the finish. 72% cabernet sauvignon and 28% merlot. Drink from 2026. This would hold very well in the next eight to ten years.

This is excellent, can't remember a more enjoyable Arsac. The quality of the tannins is extremely impressive, and this is one to sink into, a ton of rich brambled fruits, touch of austerity on the finish, good guts and bone structure, cocoa bean, rose petals, sage, has Margaux personality, along with savoury Cabernet cool blue fruits.
