The 2021 Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato entices with a whiff of confectionary spice, giving way to lemon custard and hints of lemon sorbet. It’s soothingly round with ripe orchard fruits and saline minerality to balance. Cooling acidity adds lift. A tinge of sour lime and a salty flourish linger as the 2021 tapers off long, grippy and youthfully tense.

Rich flavors of toasted hazelnut, patisserie apple and pear, lemon curd and vanilla are chiseled by well-honed acidity and a streak of salinity in this white, which shows focus and tension. Tightly meshed today, this will unfurl nicely with some bottle age or in the glass. Best from 2026 through 2031. 3,000 cases made, 100 cases imported.

Aromas of toast and pineapple fruit. The attack is soft and supple, with a silky texture, a glycerol layer, refreshing acidity and a light to medium body. Cedar wood that’s lean in the finish. Drinkable now, but there is potential for aging.
