I was blown away by how much better Perchance's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III looked after a bit more élevage and some time in bottle. Selected from four vineyard blocks and blended just prior to bottling, it offers floral, spicy aromas of violets and licorice backed by waves of cherries, blueberries and black cherries. In the mouth, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, hugely textural and long on the finish. Wow.

The 2021 Perchance Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color. It wafts from the glass with fragrant notions of black cherries, warm cassis, and wild blueberries, leading to waves of violets, licorice, garrigue, and dark chocolate scents. The full-bodied palate is plush-textured and beautifully perfumed, delivering seamless freshness and a long, graceful finish.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is brilliant stuff and has to rank with some of the finest releases from this vineyard. Its deep purple hue gives way to a great nose of red, blue, and black fruits as well as subtle floral and spicy nuances. This medium to full-bodied, flawlessly balanced 2021 has nicely integrated background oak, ripe, polished tannins, and the vintage's purity and just overall sense of class. This riveting Cabernet Sauvignon deserves 4-5 years in the cellar and will evolve for well over two decades.
