The 2021 Pinot Noir Slander comes from estate vineyards in Sonoma and Monterey, plus some purchased fruit from Santa Barbara. It spent eight months in 32% new French oak, but it isn't especially oaky on the nose, instead offering up slightly floral notes of rose petals, plus beetroot, cherries and strawberries; it's nicely complex on the nose. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, silky in texture but a bit tart, with mocha overtones on the finish.
