The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino is a dark and brooding effort. Black cherries, cloves and hints of tobacco form its bouquet. Juicy and cool-toned in feel, this displays depths of ripe blackberry and sweet spice. It finishes with a spicy tinge and gently grippy tannins that add lovely contours.

This red is about the texture, with density and a lightly chewy feel to the initial suppleness that buoys its cherry, strawberry, earth and iron flavors, along with the vivid acidity. Shows fine length, if a touch rustic. Drink now through 2028. 755 cases made.
