Clean, pure and direct aromas of blueberry and açaí meet with charred forest floor and hints of wet riverstone on the complex nose of this bottling. That intense dark-fruit flavor is complemented by lovely purple flowers on the palate, which is tight in texture. Drink now–2034.

Blackberries, gamey herbs, sage, and pepper are just some of the nuances in the 2021 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard, a medium to full-bodied Syrah offering ripe tannins, terrific balance, and outstanding length.

The 2021 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard marries power and elegance. Inky blue/purplish fruit, black pepper, earthiness, game and incense are all vibrant in the glass. A touch of whole clusters adds layers of aromatic dimension. The 2021 was just bottled, so it is a bit forbidding, but all of its signatures are present.

Deep violet in colour, notes of boysenberry, black plum, and cherry wood arouse the senses. The palate reveals more fruit, stewed berries, and violet flowers layered atop savoury notes of hickory smoked meat and dried Italian herbs, bringing depth and complexity to the Foxen Tinaquaic Vineyard Syrah. A finely-grained tannin structure and bright acidity are indicative of further ageing potential.
