This complex wine, with its spice, generous red berry fruits and structure, is impressive and likely to age. There is a dry, perfumed core that will have softened by 2023. Drink then.

A lovely effort, the 2021 Bandol Rose from Chateau Vannieres is pale and coppery in hue. Offering up wisps of crushed stone and lime on the nose, it's made in a tight, citrusy style that needs a bit of time in the glass to unwind. It's medium-bodied, clean and citrusy, yet with an easy-going, approachable finish.

Juicy and energetic, offering peach, clementine, persimmon and bitter orange notes, with mouthwatering thyme and fleur de sel accents on the finish. Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache. Drink now through 2023. 2,000 cases made, 300 cases imported.
