The Brittan estate site is on the southern end of the McMinnville AVA. There, the Gestalt Block, a two-acre parcel planted primarily to Pinot noir selection 115, occupies the southwest flank of the estate's hillside. The site produces low yields and thick skins owing to the wind through the nearby Van Duzer Corridor. Shy at first, this Pinot eventually displays an aromatic intensity, taut black fruits, rich notes of smoky frankincense and deep sous bois tones. Surprisingly lithe on the palate with tart black raspberries, gravelly minerality and a savoury saline finish.
