The 2021 Branco Beyra Reserva Quartz is a field blend with roughly 50% Fonte Cal, 30% Síria and 10% each of Verdelho and Gouveio, unoaked, dry and coming in at 13.3% alcohol. Much of the difference between this and the regular Beyra is the terroir. This is all granitic, while the regular Beyra has mixed soils. Coating the palate well, this is sharp, energetic and intense. Of course, it is very young, but it also seems like one of the best ever in the brand and something well positioned to age. The winery doesn't have a lot of track record (going back only to 2010 in this appellation), but this seems well built. The fine acidic core of this wine beautifully supports the fruit without being shrill. It's a great bargain.

This wine is ripe, rich with apple and kiwi flavors. Its liveliness is intense and needs to soften to bring out the spice and riper flavors. Drink the wine now.
