Following their dream to produce Burgundy-style cool climate Pinot Noir, Benton Lane founders Steve and Carol Girard sold their Pritchard Hill vineyards in Napa in the late 1980s and purchased a former sheep ranch straddling Benton and Lane Counties in the Southern Willamette Valley, planting 140 acres almost exclusively to Pinot Noir. Becoming known for their quality fruit and producing wines under their distinctive postage stamp Benton Lane label for nearly three decades, the couple continues to sustainably farm the Benton Lane vineyard in partnership with Huneeus, providing grapes for the 2021 Benton Lane Estate Pinot Noir from the hillside vineyard.
