A bright, fresh red with attractive lemongrass and berry character on the nose following through to a medium body nicely integrated with fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Firm and racy. Drink or hold.

From Nerello Mascalese vines grown in the contradas of Verzella, Solicchiata, Feudo di Mezzo and Guardiola, vinified in stainless steel and matured in 25hl barrels. Intense, textured and mineral, this 2021 features dark, dusty hedgerow berries with a slightly creamy, woody background. There's good fruit sapidity and some nice balsamic herb aromatics along with good acidity. And while a winery's ‘entry level’ wines are typically ready to drink sooner, at this stage I'd rather pick the estate's 2020 contrada bottlings.
