The Albino Rocca 2021 Barbaresco is a big surprise. This wine is fresh and bright, showing enormous focus and purity on the bouquet. There is impressive complexity too with crushed limestone, blue flower and bright cassis. I have not tasted this wine in a while and wonder where they've been hiding this beauty. Fruit comes from Meruzzano, Cottà and the youngest vines in Ronchi. Production is 13,000 bottles.

A pretty red, this is elegant and perfumed, delivering strawberry, cherry, rose, licorice and spice flavors. Firms up on the finish yet remains elegant and focused. Shows fine, mineral length. Best from 2027 through 2045. 580 cases made, 300 cases imported.

The 2021 Barbaresco is stellar. Floral and savory overtones are beautifully defined in a lifted, chiseled Barbaresco that shows the Albino Rocca house style at its best. Vineyard sites are Meruzzano and Ronchi. A wine of delicacy and understatement, the 2021 is a delight. This is what Barbaresco is all about.

Extremely enjoyable Barbaresco, with fresh strawberry and pomegranate fruit character, as well as fresh violets. Crisp, chewy palate with slightly chalky tannins, yet good on the finish due to the tension. Crunchy and ready to drink now.
