Curtis McBride and Kent Rasmussen go back years and years as both business partners and friends. Over the course of many trips to the Far East, they realized they could use elements of Chinese numerology to express their ideals for a perfect winery. In Chinese culture, the numbers six, eight, and nine are considered to be lucky or auspicious, inspiring their label, 689. This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay really showcases the tropical notes and linear acidity of the former and the weight and structure of the latter while exhibiting the fun combo of oak and stainless-steel aging. Green apple, lime, stone fruit, and textured creaminess make for complex but straight-up goodness.
