A burly, linear red, with ample blackberry, black cherry and black currant fruit to offset the dense tannins. Vibrant, energetic and balanced, with a long, saturated aftertaste echoing the dark fruit and adding a hint of tobacco. Sangiovese, Colorino and Canaiolo. Best from 2025 through 2043. 1,666 cases made, 250 cases imported.

A tense and mineral expression here with fine spices and pure red berries. This is transparent and understated on the palate with crumbled fine tannins that linger with the minerals and berries in a long, intense finish. Drink now.

The 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone holds the attention firmly with a mentholated mix of crushed blackberries, cedar shavings and a cocoa dusting. This smooths across the palate with soft and plaint textures and ripe wild berry fruits as a gentle coating of sweet tannins mounts toward the close. The 2020 leaves the palate stained with primary concentration, finishing long. This warm vintage Asinone will be the perfect option while waiting for the more structured vintages to mature.
