Some sweet tobacco leaves and roasted red chili pepper to the currants, dark chocolate and ripe plums. Hint of sweet spices. A ripe and characterful cabernet here from the old, parral/pergola-trained vineyard. Medium- to full-bodied with medium acidity and tight, fine-grained tannins. Pretty long and savory finish. Drink now or bold.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Ultra hails from an old vineyard planted in 1945 in Vistalba, Luján de Cuyo and was aged for 12 months in varied-use barrels. Purple with a garnet red sheen. The delicate, fruity nose offers blackcurrant and blackberry with gentle pepper and orange hints. Concentrated in the mouth with refined, structural tannins, the 2020 has a potent flow and vivid flavor. Young today, it will improve greatly with age.
