Crisp and pure aromas of pomegranate extract, crushed stone and Red Hot candies show on the vivid nose of this block-designated bottling. The palate is generous in cherry but vibrant in sumac-laced acidity, as a zippy acidity flies into the finish. Drink now through 2038.

Nicely packed, with a winey set of red currant and damson plum notes that meld nicely with energetic red tea, sanguine and savory details through the finish. Sleek, pure and lengthy. Cellaring merited here. Best from 2024 through 2032. 503 cases made.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 43 is another bold, racy Pinot from Foxen. Dijon clones (667 and 777) yield a Pinot with tons of structure to play off its red-fruit leaning. I would cellar this for a few years, as the tannins are quite imposing at this stage. Hints of white pepper, chalk, mint and crushed rocks lend savory intensity throughout.
