The entry-level red 2020 Fundamentalista is 60% Bobal from 80+year-old vines, 30% white grapes and some other varieties that were co-planted in the vineyards, harvested and vinified together with 40% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and trodden by foot with a short eight to 10-day maceration. This field blend wine matured in 1,000-liter tinaja for 11 months, trying to replicate the wines from the zone from yesteryear. This comes from the lower part of the vineyard (where they also source the grapes for the "new" La Rosa), where there's more clay and less stones and more white grapes. It has a bright color and good concentration and juiciness, a true Mediterranean vintage, clean and fruit-driven. 8,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021.
