Great place for ordering wine, clean handoff, tracking lets you know by email where the package is. Ordered from wine.com and was missing deliveries with zero communication. GProst

Owner's personal wine reviews, and collected ratings from popular critics, make shopping a "wine magazine" experience. Better selection than most big‑city shops, and much better feature prices. Very good delivery service.

I’ve been a customer for decades and have ordered for delivery just a few times. This time, I received an “order shipped” email but NO notification that. It was delivered to the pick up location. I checked today and it was delivered 4 days ago! But I got no text or email to tell me… yeah, I checked spam. That’s just weird.

Everything arrived nicely! Nothing broken. Exactly what I ordered. Better prices than New York. Penelope Creme Brulee was a great deal. I also bought Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength Rum because it's hard to find in near by stores.

B21 has an enormous selection of wines and alcohol at great prices. Their shipping is fast and well packaged. Website needs a little IT help as if you don't search exactly as it appears, nothing will come up. Other than that B21 is highly recommended.

2020 Chateau Giscours (750ml)

Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaux, Bordeaux, France

B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

A sweet deal on top scoring Bordeaux blends built for the cellar, these "six lollipop" selections are unbeatably priced under $60, an array of high scoring Left and Right Bank reds at terrific value pricing whether choosing a favorite or mixing a case.

  • Crafted by the talented team behind Chateau Lynch-Bages, the powerfully aromatic 95 pt. 2020 Chateau Haut-Batailley is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot offering ripe energetic dark fruit hinting of graphite and smokey spice, described as "very Pauillac" by the Wine Spectator's James Molesworth and called "well balanced and easy to recommend" by Inside Bordeaux's Jane Anson. The richly textured 2020 Chateau Haut-Batailley was aged in 60% new French oak for 14 months, yielding "a ripe, layered, elegant Pauillac" with "a great finish" according to Jeb Dunnuck, already offering pleasurable drinking and promising to evolve over the next several decades.
  • Earning the #11 spot on the Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2022, the thrilling 96 pt. 2019 Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot is a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from 20 prime hectares behind Clos Fourtet and opposite Chateau Canon on Saint Emilion's limestone plateau, offering a rich core of dark concentrated fruit with chalky minerality and "very fine-grained tannins and a mineral lift on the finish" according to the Wine Independent's Lisa Perotti-Brown. Aged in 65% new French oak with the remainder in a mix of foudres, amphora and once-used barrels for 18 months, the 2019 Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot will reward a few years of patient cellaring with decades of enjoyment.
  • Declared one of Margaux's "rising stars" by Antonio Galloni of Vinous, the elegant and deliciously intense 97 pt. 2020 Chateau Giscours is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot revealing rich, aromatic fruit hinting of subtle spice and crushed gravel, with silky, integrated tannins and "one heck of a great finish" according to Jeb Dunnuck. Crafted by esteemed winemaker Lorenzo Pasquini before his move to D'Yquem, the enticing 2020 Chateau Giscours was aged in 50% new French oak for 17 months, "already impressive" with "serious potential" over the next several decades according to the Wine Enthusiast's Roger Voss.

The 2020 Giscours is every bit as compelling as it was from barrel. Succulent dark cherry, plum, new leather, licorice, menthol and mocha fill out the layers nicely. There's a good bit of Merlot in this year, which lends quite a bit of mid-palate juiciness and textural depth, but there is also plenty of supporting structure underneath. The 2020 is both flamboyant and serious, a pretty appealing combination, I have to say. Tasted two times.

96 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous (Feb 2023)

Fascinating aromas of blueberries, crushed stone, and blackcurrants. Very aromatic. Full-bodied with juicy tannins that are creamy and intense. Slightly bitter, burnt citrus character. This is very muscular with velvety tannins. Needs time to soften. Try after 2025 but will age a long time.

96 points, James Suckling (May 2023)

This estate is now enjoying its finest run since its glory days in the 1970s, and the 2020 Giscours is excellent. Unwinding in the glass with deep aromas of blackberries, cassis, pencil shavings, rose petals and sweet, loamy soil, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a layered and seamless mid-palate, excellent concentration and powdery structuring tannins.

95+ points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Apr 2023)

Deep plum in colour, lilting acidities, some angular tannins at this point, beautifully bitter dark chocolate alongside bilberry and blackberry fruits, with fragrant mint leaf and precisely carved tannic grip. Last year with Lorenzo Pasquini as technical director, before Jérôme Poisson took over in 2021. The first year also when Giscours became the only estate in Margaux owned by the Albada family, as they sold du Tertre. Thomas Duclos consultant, 50% new oak. Harvest September 8 to October 2, 35hl/h yield.

95 points, Jane Anson (Feb 2024)

With a combination of finesse, depth and body, this wine impresses with smooth delivery and finesse – and shows how more precise viticulture and winemaking over the past two decades has raised the quality at this sprawling estate. Indeed, the 2005 vintage tasted alongside was very good, but not as spherical, not as complete. Chef Yannick Germain, being more accustomed to Burgundy, appreciated Giscours in both vintages for the wines' elegance, recommending casserole-cooked Black Gascon pork, gently braised in its own juices to pair with the 2020 vintage.

95 points, Panos Kakaviatos, Decanter (Feb 2026)

The Grand Vin 2020 Château Giscours is based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot that spent 17 months in 50% new French oak. It has a gorgeous perfume of pure cassis, graphite, and flowers that gives way to a medium to full-bodied Margaux possessing ample tannins, a layered, concentrated mid-palate, remarkable purity, and one heck of a great finish. It’s another beautiful Margaux in the vintage that will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and evolve for at least two decades.

94+ points, Jeb Dunnuck (Mar 2023)

The 2020 Giscours, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple in color. It wafts gracefully from the glass with pretty notes of raspberry coulis, Morello cherries, and crushed blackcurrants, plus touches of garrigue, bay leaves, and iron ore. The medium-bodied palate is silky and beautifully poised, delivering delicate red berry and savory layers, finishing on a mineral note.
