Haut-Medoc's Larrivaux delivers the goods at the $20 mark, with a pair of eminently charming, approachable winners, while the "wonderfully pure, medium-bodied, elegant, and seamless" 2019 La Prade is a chance to get can't-miss Right Bank class from the winemaking skills of the talented Nicolas Thienpont, all at a case-buy price.
Listrac, along with Moulis, is a bargain hunter's paradise, and Fourcas-Dupre is the name to know there, and even collectors shouldn't overlook the 95-point 2019 Cantemerle. ""This is a really fabulous Cantemerle that surely represents outstanding value. No excuse not to have this in your cellar," declares, Neal Martin of Vinous. Finally, our score of the season on the Right Bank is undoubtedly the 94-point, "utterly delicious" 2019 Rol Valentin, which Neal Martin proclaims, "one of the finest I have tasted in recent years." The 2020 Fourcas Dupré has a cohesive and focused bouquet, more bashful than some of its peers, black fruit mixed with pencil lead and very light peony aromas. The palate is well structured with slightly angular tannins that will be smoothed by time. Fresh and saline, fine depth, this is very classic in style and it should mature well in bottle. One for cellaring.

This shows notes of cassis, black cherries, crushed walnut, toasted spices and chocolate. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins that give a silky mouth-feel. Polished and refined with a delicate fruit character. Fresh and chalky finish. Drink or hold.

Black and blue fruits, smoked tobacco, and scorched earth define the 2020 Château Fourcas Dupre, a medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, balanced Listrac that has surprising density and depth. It's a rock-solid 2020 to drink over the coming decade.

The medium-bodied palate is refreshing, with crunchy, just-ripe red berry flavors and herbal accents framed by chewy tannins, finishing with a lively lift.
