Spicy and full of unbridled energy, the 2019 Verdicchio dei Castello di Jesi Classico Superiore Misco wafts up with an inviting display of crushed green apples, candied ginger, incense, stone dust and almond paste. It’s a silky and medium-bodied effort that soothes all that it touches in ripe orchard fruits, but it then cleanses the palate with a blast of salty acids. Peppery florals and hints of lime linger, as the mouth waters for more. While the Misco is already firing on all cylinders, it wouldn’t hurt to lose a few bottles in the cellar for a year or two.
