A beautifully crafted red with cherry, plum, light cocoa and aniseed complexity. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Very fine for the vintage. Delicacy with structure. Best after 2026.

This accessible red evokes cherry, raspberry, licorice, earth and eucalyptus flavors. Juicy and harmonious, this firms up yet remains long, echoing the fruit and savory elements. Best from 2027 through 2045. 200 cases imported.

The Prunotto 2019 Barolo Cerretta (with fruit from Serralunga d'Alba) shows immediate hints of metallic minerality with iodine and rusty nail. These aromas are often present in wines from this village, and they add contours and linearity to wines that tend to be quite powerful on their own. Dark fruit and crème de cassis cede to a tightly textured mouthfeel. Some 10,000 bottles are coming to market this fall.

The 2019 Barolo Cerretta is terrific. Layered and expansive, yet also medium in body, the Cerretta is a fine effort from this Serralunga vineyard, where wines tend to be a bit more accessible than they are in other parts of the village. Succulent red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint, sweet spice and wild flowers abound. This is very nicely done.

A graceful and ethereal Barolo, where perfumed aromatics seem to float from the glass. The Cerretta cru shows its refined character with delicate red fruits and floral notes that dance across the palate. Despite its lifted, almost aerial quality, there's impressive tension and precision, like a tightrope walker maintaining perfect balance. The structure is there but nearly invisible, providing subtle support for the round, supple fruit while maintaining remarkable poise and energy throughout. Drink Now - 2040
