Pure and medium bodied, with sweet raspberry fruit, orange peel, and fresh Mediterranean herbs, it is balanced and refreshing, with ripe tannins and fantastic energy throughout. The 2019 Rosso di Montalcino Sogni e Follia is very pretty in the glass, mixing ripe cherries and plums with a lifting hint of sweet mint. This washes across the palate with grace, showing pure red fruits and inner rose tones. The 2019 turns grippy through the finale, leaving a staining of fine tannin and mineral tones to linger on. I’m enjoying the energy here, yet I’m also craving more depth on the palate.
