The 2019 Barolo Mosconi is powerful, dense and compact. Dark cherry, plum, new leather, licorice and incense all run through this potent, brooding Barolo. Big, muscular Mosconi tannins wrap it all together. I would be in no rush to open this. This needs a ton of air.

With fruit from Monforte d'Alba, the Piero Benevelli 2019 Barolo Mosconi shows dark currant and dried blackberry. This wine has a richer core of dark fruit aromas that feels denser and more concentrated on the palate compared to the other two releases by this small producer. However, the metallic mineral signature is quite marked here, giving this wine a very dry finish. Some 4,000 bottles were made.
