Perfumed and fresh on the nose with strawberry and cedar aromas as well as some lavender. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a bright finish. Delicate yet firm. Better after 2026.

This is a very classic La Morra. Pure liquorice root and anise aromas are full of restraint and are mirrored on the palate, along with juicy, red currants. The frame is light, with crispy, crunchy tannins and a sweet finish. Very nice Barolo but lacking a bit of concentration.

Aromas of candied cherries, macerated raspberries, dried rose and forest floor all combine on the nose of this wine. An excellent example of the elegance of La Morra, the palate is lifted with superfine tannins that support the supple red fruit notes, mixed spices and mineral-driven finish. Drink now–2045.

The 2019 Barolo del Comune di La Morra is an attractive, entry-level Barolo that will drink well right out of the gate. Sweet dried cherry, spice, cedar, pipe tobacco, mint and orange zest lend notable aromatic presence to this understated, classy Barolo from Marcarini. Drink it over the next handful of years. This is a very pretty 2019.
