The 2019 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru comes from Lamarche’s 0.30-hectare parcel. It has a well-defined bouquet of pure red cherry and strawberry fruit, very elegant and ethereal in style, plus hints of sous-bois in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with very lithe tannins and more grip than the Clos Vougeot. Quite edgy and tensile, this fans out gently on the floral/rose petal finish. Very fine, although there is not a "Grands" gap between this and the Echézeaux this vintage.
