The Damilano 2019 Barolo Cerequio is my favorite wine of this bunch, and the deciding factor for me is the pretty intensity of the bouquet. This wine has a lot to offer with pressed berry, grilled herb and crushed flower. It faithfully reflects a classic Nebbiolo playlist and delivers its charming aromas with lifted brightness. Cerequio shoes a lot of energy in this vintage, with only 2,700 bottles on the market.

Crushed stone and chalk on the nose with cherry and ripe strawberry aromas that follow through to a full body and firm tannin structure. It’s long and flavorful. Needs three or four years to soften. Drink after 2027.

A succulent, balanced red hallmarked by ripe cherry, raspberry, plum, wood, game and tar flavors. Long, finishing with good grip and wood, earth and spice accents. Best from 2027 through 2045. 220 cases made, 100 cases imported.
