Really clear aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with dried flowers and sandalwood. It’s full-to medium-bodied, yet with very tight, refined tannins that run the length of the finish. Second wine of Lagrange. Very well done. Best after 2024.

The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is made from 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with lovely notes of wild blueberries, warm cassis, and kirsch, leading to suggestions of baking spices and lilacs. The medium-bodied palate is vibrant and intense, with firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing with great length and energy.

The 2019 Les Fiefs de Lagrange fulfills its promise from barrel. It feels harmonious and engaging on the nose of brambly red fruit, undergrowth and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and quite weighty and mouth-filling for a Deuxième Vin, offering satisfying sapidity on the finish. Very fine.

Attractive and well balanced wine, with raspberry and red cherry fruits, emphasis more clearly on summer fruits compared to the main estate wine. This finishes up fairly swiftly, but has an unfussy juiciness to it.

Blackcurrant florality on the nose. Great sweetness and juice with creamy edges, too, and again the aromatics come out. Soft, playful, nice depth, unshowy but nicely balanced and well presented. It's for easy drinking. Gentle and comforting. Drink now.
