Benefiting from our long-standing relationship with the estate, this exclusive selection features top-rated Red and White Burgundies from Bouchard's vast mosaic of vineyard holdings, including many appellations' top-scoring wines of the vintage in a range of formats from 375ml to magnums. From an entry level 90pt Red Burgundy bargain ready to enjoy now to a 100pt "perfect" Grand Cru White promising years of evolving pleasure ahead, these spectacular 2019 Bouchard Pere & Fils Burgundy selections come from a vintage that "hit the bullseye" according to critic James Suckling, offering a "rare combination of excellence and great consistency."

Founded in 1731, the esteemed Bouchard Pere & Fils manages 130 hectares of vineyards of which 74 are classified as 1er Cru with 12 hectares classified as Grand Cru, producing a vast array of wines all crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail by talented Cellar Master Frédéric Weber since 2013. Beginning with the Reds, the 90pt 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir Reserve is one of the top values of the vintage crafted for immediate enjoyment, boasting "pleasant harmony" with "good depth and length" according to James Suckling, while the 94pt 2019 Beaune Clos de la Mousse is "as fine a young Clos de la Mousse" that critic William Kelley has "ever tasted," from a singular 1er Cru Monopole owned exclusively by Bouchard since 1872. From the legendary parcel under Bouchard ownership for over a century, the 2019 Beaune Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus 1er Cru "feels like a thoroughbred ready to run" according to the Wine Spectator's Bruce Sanderson while James Suckling describes the 96pt 2019 Bouchard Le Corton Grand Cru as "powerful yet sleek," ready to evolve over the next decades and available in a variety of formats including cellar-worthy magnums.

Bouchard's 2019 White Burgundy includes the the gorgeous 100pt 2019 Bouchard Chevalier Montrachet promises a "brilliant future" according to the Wine Advocate's William Kelley, offered exclusively in rarely available magnums for Burgundy collectors to cellar and enjoy over the next decade.

Crafted in a challenging but exceptional vintage, Bouchard had significantly lower yields in 2019 than prior years, so Burgundy fans and collectors will want to dive in and secure their allocation of these outstanding Bouchard Burgundy selections today, at best on the market pricing.

Once again, for this taster, the 2019 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is the highpoint of Bouchard's portfolio, and it will be worth a special effort to track down. Mingling scents of peonies, rose petals, wild berries and bergamot in a perfumed and quintessentially Chambolle bouquet—even if, since the upper part of the parcel is being replanted, this derives exclusively from so-called "terres rouges"—it's medium to full-bodied, layered and perfumed, with terrific concentration, bright acids and a long, mineral finish. This isn't the most powerful wine in the range, but it's the most elegant; and it's refreshing to see Bonnes Mares interpreted in this register, rather than being extracted to the point of monstrosity.

94-96+ points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is well defined on the nose, perhaps missing some of the blue fruit you often find from this vineyard, and quite strict yet detailed and focused, touches of black tea infusing the cranberry and raspberry. The palate is energetic on the entry thanks to a fine bead of acidity, and smooth in texture. It exerts quite a grip on the finish. This should open up more once racked.

92-94 points, Neal Martin, Vinous (Dec 2020)
