Tarry and spicy nose with savory, cured meat, sweet spices, pine cone and peppercorn to the ripe blackberries. A hint of mineral. This shows excellent depth and width of complexity on the full-bodied palate with a fine wrap of dusty tannins. Long and nicely opulent in style. Better from 2025.

Compact and full-bodied, with hints of leather and spices accenting generous flavors of pureed black cherry and boysenberry fruit, plus licorice, dried mint and mocha. Muscular, but silky in texture and expressive, turning firm and chewy on the finish, which echoes subtle spice and smoke notes. Best from 2025 through 2033. 290 cases made, 110 cases imported.
