Broad and fleshy, this red exhibits black cherry, plum, earth and forest floor flavors, supported by a wide tract of tannins. A muscular style, with a rough grain offset by the ripe fruit. Shows fine length, but it will take a few years to tame its burly tannins. Best from 2028 through 2043. 1,050 cases made, 30 cases imported.

There is a bright intensity of dark fruits and floral notes in this wine, though reductive at very first sniff. The cherries are lush and ripe, almost spirit-like, with chocolaty depth. Firm on the palate, this has medium to full body, crisp acidity and thick, chalky tannins that deserve time to soften their sternness. Best after 2025.
