Among the many projects at Luca Sanjust's beautiful Petrolo estate located in the southeast part of Chianti close to the Chianti Classico boarder is Galatrona, the flagship wine of Petrolo, which is a single-vineyard planted to Merlot and farmed organically. Don't miss Petrolo Boggina, a vineyard planted entirely to Sangiovese in 1952 and of course farmed organically. Petrolo Torrione is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese which gives the wine beautiful structure, freshness, plush tannins and the refined fruit of the legendary Petrolo Estate. This bottling is a tribute to Luca's mother who recently passed. The label is adorned with a sketch-over outlined red heart with wings. She was an inspiration, you know, with miles 'n' miles 'n' miles of heart. |
