Light, bright straw. Fresh pear, orange pith and a suggestion of pungent flowers on the powerfully scented nose, along with a building mineral nuance. Juicy and incisive in the mouth, offering Meyer lemon, pear and quince flavors accented by a spicy ginger flourish. Silky and focused on the finish, which shows powerful floral lift, minerally cut and impressive persistence.

Waxy apple and melon aromas come with notes of white pepper and hot rocks. This is another in Ossian's line of oak-aged Verdejos from Segovia. It's full and rounded, with notable core acidity. Lightly spiced apple and saline flavors are leesy, while this plays out on the finish with oak and mineral notes. The wine comes from 150-year-old vines. Drink through 2022.

The very tasty 2018 Quintaluna shows the new style in a cooler vintage where the wine achieved ripeness without excess, developed full aromas and flavors and retained good freshness. It's faintly varietal, still young, a little shy and complex. 100,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2019 after nine months with the lees, a small part with oak.
