This has a seductive nose of purple cherries, mulberries, sage, olives, nutmeg, orange zest and dried flowers. Medium to full body with a fantastic balance of ripe fruit, spice and zesty freshness. Very drinkable. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The aromatics on the 2018 NeroBufaleffj are understated, requiring coaxing to release a pretty mix of black currants laced with violets and hints of sweet smoke. This is round and soothing on the palate, with mineral-tinged red fruits and the slightest hint of sour citrus that adds contrast. There’s a bitter tinge that lasts through the finale, as the 2018 finishes with crunchy tannins and a touch of black licorice. The meatiness and minerality of Bufaleffj comes through here, yet in a more accessible package.
